What is Echo360?
Echo360 is a presentation capturing device that allows staff to record presentations and tutorials. Recorded audio and video files can then be embedded or linked on web pages or integrated into the learning management system.
Throughout second semester 2009, Echo360 devices will be installed in key rooms on all campuses on a trial basis. Please be aware that there may be some issues while staff become familiar with the technology.
What platforms are supported?
Echo360 recordings are both Windows and Macintsoh compatible. This also includes Apple iPods and iPhones.
What browsers are supported?
- Internet Explorer 6 and above (RSS feeds work only on Internet Explorer 7 and above)
- Firefox version 3 and above
- Safari 3 and above
Do I need any special software on my computer?
Make sure that you have the latest Adobe Flash Player on your computer. Download Adobe Flash Player
Are all my lectures available through Echo360?
Not all lectures will be recorded and as such may not be available for playback. Please ask the lecturer of each course you are enrolled in whether you are able to use this facility.
How do I access my recorded lectures?
Your lecturer will inform you where the link to the recorded tutorials will be placed.
Can I download recordings to my iPod/MP3 player or phone?
Recordings are made in MP3 and Adobe Flash (SWF) formats so that you can watch or listen to the lecture from iPods/iPhones and some MP3 players and mobile phones.
I'm having difficulty accessing my recorded lecture. Who can I contact for support?
- Please contact the lecturer of the course as the first line as the Lecturer may not have either uploaded the Echo or does not want it made available
