Many of these scholarships and bursaries recognise outstanding academic achievement and acknowledge the University's responsibility to provide access to students who might otherwise be excluded, or disadvantaged, by socio-economic, cultural, geographic and/or other disadvantages.

Further information on scholarships and bursaries offered through the University is available on the Scholarships website.

Austudy, Abstudy and Youth Allowance

For each study period, the Department of Education, Employment & Workplace Relations (DEEWR) cross-check students' enrolment details against their files to ascertain their eligibility to receive Austudy, Abstudy or Youth Allowance entitlements.

Where discrepancies occur, Centrelink will contact students requiring repayment of benefits. Students must ensure that their enrolment is recorded correctly.

For Centrelink purposes, a student must enrol in 75% of their course full-time load for the year, ie a study load of 0.375 EFTSL or greater in a standard study period. A student's load for the study period is printed on the Invoice/Receipt in Student Connect.

Further information on Austudy, Abstudy and the Youth Allowance is available from Centrelink.
