HECS-HELP Step-by-step

Before completing this form you must read the HECS-HELP Information 2012 booklet which is available at the Student Centre or online at Study Assist.

Important

Under the Higher Education Support Act 2003 (HESA) all Commonwealth supported students (including students who are not eligible, or, do not want to request HECS-HELP) must submit a Request for Commonwealth support and HECS-HELP form on or before the census date for the first study period they are enrolled in.

Students who fail to submit this form will have their enrolment cancelled.

To access the online Request for Commonwealth support and HECS-HELP form:

  1. Login to Student Connect
  2. Select My Fees
  3. Select Commonwealth Support
  4. Select the Term you will enrol into units eg Semester 1 2012
  5. Click the Submit button
  6. Check your personal details (if your details are incorrect, please contact your local Student Centre)
  7. Scroll down to 8a and enter your Tax File Number if you choose to obtain a HECS-HELP loan
  8. Scroll down to 10 and select your payment option
  9. Tick the I agree checkbox
  10. Click the Submit button
  11. The receipt screen will then be displayed. Print this screen for your records.
